Family Travel Forum (FTF), the web’s leading trip-planning resource for family travelers, and the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW), a non-profit organization that provides professional support for its membership specializing in the travel industry, are kicking off this year’s Teen Travel Writing Scholarship contest, first held in 2007, to encourage students across the country to share their travel experience in words, images, and videos.
The 10th annual Teen Travel Writing Scholarship is available to junior high and high school students between the ages of 13 and 18. To be considered, you must submit a travel blog of no more than 600 words. Your entry must also contain at least one photo, digital artwork or video. Submissions are being accepted between June 1 and July 13, 2016.
The First Place winner will receive a $1,000 cash grant, and cash prizes will be given to the Second ($500) and Third Place ($250) authors. Leading travel insurance provider Allianz Global Assistance USA will also award the top three prize winners a “Go Bag” comprised of a GoPro, portable power pack and a passport hold with RFID protection. The work of 20 Honorable Mention nominees will be rewarded with travel gifts. All of the top travel blogs are posted on Family Travel Forum’s site www.MyFamilyTravels.com.
